Create a Show Record in an OutSystems Application

< Back to OS Goodies

Sometimes in an Outsystems Application, you just want to show one record on a screen without editing it.

Service Studio does different things depending on what you drag-and-drop and into where. For example, if you want to create a table in a screen, you drag an aggregate into that screen. Doing this will create a table with the records from that aggregate. If you want to create a form in a screen, you drag first the form tool into the screen and then an aggregate inside the form.

And, you also have the show record pattern. If you have an aggregate filtered by Id and drag and drop that aggregate to a screen, it will create a container with the labels and values of the record.

Thus, if you have an aggregate filtered by UserId for example:

Get User by Userid

And, you drag the aggregate into a screen, it will create the show record pattern.

Show Record

It's a very crude show record. It only has label and value. But it's a good start for you to show the record information on a screen.
